The Soldier and
Family Assistance Center (SFAC) Team Services are tailored for and
responsive to the needs of the Warrior in Transition (WT) and their
Families. |

SFAC services strive to maximize availability and
convenience to WT's and their Families. Other services
requiring less than a full-time presence is available at the SFAC at
designated times. Additional services are provided through
priority off-site appointments coordinated by the SFAC staff.
SFAC sites provide a warm, welcoming and relaxed environment
where Soldiers and their Families can gather to foster physical,
spiritual and mental healing while receiving the assistance they
need. The services provided by the SFAC include, but are not
limited to;
- Entitlements and Benefits Counseling
- Military Pay Issue Assistance
- Military Personnel Services such as ID Cards, DD 214's,
SGLI changes, etc.
- VA Benefits and Entitlements
- Financial counseling and assistance on budgeting,
consumer affairs and financial management
- Local, state and national community resource information
- Substance abuse information and referral
- Assistance with Travel Pay for Family members on
Invitational Travel Orders (ITO)
- Coordination of legal services
- Pastoral services
- Establish emergency housing plans for non-medical
attendants who provide care for a WT
- Assist in identifying lodging resources for Family
members
- Child care assistance and referral
- Coordination with Army Reserve and National Guard state
and local agencies
- Liaison with Ombudsmen services
- Military Family life consultants
- Military Family life coaches
- Accept and manage donations
- Coordinate outreach activities

The SFAC Information Referral and Follow-up
Coordinator will direct you to a wide range of services
on Fort Benning, the local community, and in your
home state.
How does the SFAC team differ from other
community agencies?
The SFAC focuses primarily on assisting the Warrior in Transition (WT) and his
or her Family Member during their transition period.
Am I eligible for assignment to on-post housing on a
priority basis?
Yes. As long as you meet the criteria established by the
Housing Office, you will be offered housing on a priority
basis.
What is the process for assistance?
The SFAC Information Referral and Follow-up Coordinator work individually with
each Soldier or Family member to determine which services they need. They
provide a personal session to each Soldier or Family member to assist them with
all available services both on Fort Benning and off-site.
