Fort Benning Outdoor Recreation programs provide Soldiers and their families opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors through an array of activities, including paintball, camping, backpacking, fishing, hunting and more. Our goal is to help Soldiers and family members acquire skills and develop interests that will last a lifetime. Events are posted on Facebook and on the web calendar. Free Kayaking Clinic

Outdoor Recreation will host a free kayaking clinic for ID card holders 12 and older at 5pm July 23 at Kings Pond. Space is limited. To register, call 706-545-2079.

Family Fishing Night

Join us for Family Fishing Night from 6-8pm July Russ Park August 19. Though fishing at Russ Park is reserved for family members 15 and younger, this free event is fun for the whole family. Bring your own equipment or reserve a pole free by calling 706-545-7978. Participants do not need a fishing license for this event.

Open House

Outdoor Recreation will host the annual Fort Benning Hunting, Fishing and Outdoor Recreation Open House from 5-8pm August 21 at the Benning Club. This event is free and fun for the whole family, but it’s a must for outdoorsmen who need the latest information on hunting, fishing and weapons regulations. Enjoy free refreshments and win great door prizes. We’ll also award raffle prizes, including a $500 gift card to Cabela’s, a tree stand, GPS, 3x9x40 riflescope and case, a trail camera, binoculars, a rod and reel and more. Raffle tickets are $2.50 each, and you can get them today at Outdoor Recreation on Gillespie Street. 706-545-7978

 Equipment Rental

The Outdoor Recreation Equipment Resource Center rents boats, campers, moving trucks, generators, mowers, super cookers, much more!

Boat Rental Notice

In order to rent a boat from Outdoor Recreation, you must present a boater safety card. Certify in our office by watching a video, or take an online boater safety course here. Be sure to bring the certificate with you at the time of rental.

Privately Owned Vehicle Resale Lot

The POV resale lot, commonly called the Lemon Lot, is located on Gaudette Street, behind the Auto Skills Center. It is used for the resale of vehicles, boats, trailers, recreational vehicles, and motorcycles. Customers must present a valid government ID card, proof of current registration and insurance at the time of parking space rental.
Registration is $11.00 for 30 days, per vehicle. All vehicles must be removed by the 30th day. Customers wishing to re-register their vehicle after the expiration date, must wait seven days before returning their car to the lot.

Storage

Outdoor Recreation offers storage units as well as privately owned vehicle parking spaces to customers. The lots are gated and controlled access is granted 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call 706-545-7978 for pricing and availability.
